OYO STATE'S 10% PPP PROPOSAL IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS IS STILL FRAUDULENTLY DRIVEN AND A GREEK GIFT.

A visit to my secondary school(Opebi Grammar School) in Lagos, I saw that our school of more than 50acre land space has been reduced to about 5acre while the remaining 45acre has been sold and use to build houses all within the awuse estate of opebi, salvation bus stop, Lagos.

Now, each time I think about the privatization initiative of Oyo state government what comes to my mind is the fate experienced by my secondary school in Lagos how public schools land meant for expansion of facilities as the student population increases end up being sold by political office holders.

A closer look at public schools in Oyo state, many of them are blessed with vast land sizes in choice areas and I believe these are assets meant to be secured for future educational benefit of our people in terms of facility expansion. In addition to public schools land, other public establishments suffers same fate and I am of utmost believe that as at when due many of these criminal acquisitions would be unravelled. Look at the AERODROME ESTATE after samonda in ibadan for example, it was a vast land area decimated for the construction of an airport but what do we have there today? The assets of our state belongs to our people not to a group of people or person.

The government college ibadan in Apata for example is sitting on a vast area of land. Orogun Grammar school is sitting on a large area of land. Many secondary and primary school in Oyo state are sitting on a large area of land in choice location and personally, I believe if the privatisation of public schools is intended to be driven on only 10% of the existing public schools what we will see next is the division and demarcation of public land into into use under the guise of nonprofit based public private partnership. This is total fraud and should be totally rejected by all and sundry in Oyo State.

Let me use this opportunity to thank the organised labour union and the good people of Oyo state and especially our innocent youths who came out enmass to defend their commonwealth. The legacy of our forefathers in public institutions if nothing is for us to have education in a comfortable environment with future expansion as our population increases and if some selected opportunist semantically achieved their aim what would we have to sustain for the generations yet unborn.

Nothing is said about the privatisation of public schools that is based on truth and sincerity by the Oyo state government. This require no form of special reasoning or logic but common sense. Since the initial public notice is money driven, obviously, all the plan is a scam.

Succumbing to pressure when you erred is not the same thing as being humble. If the people had relented or hesitated, the government would have had its way of hoodwinking the people of Oyo state and their children the only benefit in terms of public education they are getting from the government.

No to public school privatization in any form because the 10% semantic submission is a Greek gift. The people must be on the look out and voice out any criminal tendencies of the government.

God bless the people of Oyo state.
