Buhari is Evidently Encouraging Impunity

April 23, 2016 President Muhammadu Buhari   with Yemi Adebowale; yemi.adebowale@thisdaylive.com; 07013940521 (text only) One of the things President Muhammadu Buhari vowed to fight on assumption of office on May 29 last year was impunity in all aspects of our nation’s life. I spent a lot of time this week reflecting on the meaning of impunity. Exemption or freedom from punishment after breaching the laws of the land looks more like an appropriate definition of this word. In international law, it refers to the failure to bring perpetrators of human rights violations to justice and, as such, itself constitutes a denial of the victims’ right to justice and redress. Impunity is especially common in countries that lack a tradition of the rule of law, suffer from corrupt

POLITICAL STATEMENT IS A VOMIT THAT SHOULDN'T BE SWALLOWED.

APC hailers want me to eat my vomit but i won't. Because we wanted gej out of power due to ridiculous government spendings and embezzlement, we were termed wailers. Why do i still wail? Because the present government is not in any way different from the immediate past government of gej. In fact its even worst. Political office holders are still earning same amount of money even now that there's recession. Presidency still keeps the same fleet of aircraft and have even increased the travelling cost and record. The same jet used by the former petroleum minister is still being used. There had been cases of high level secretive recruitment of children and families of political office holders. Federal character has been thrown to dustbin. Political affiliates have been shielded from prosecution eg lamorde! 2015 budget has never been used for any developmental project within a year but for propaganda and globe trotting including bail out to governors, not for project but for debt re

HARD WORK, THE ONLY WAY TO GREATNESS, GOD ASIDE.

In 1998,as usual, I washed a man's car, a grey colour regular Benz wagon, very clean, in expectation of a financial benefit should he arrives from abuja the next day but on that next day, he told me he had no money and I replied, its OK sir, I will still be here when next you come around. Ever since then, we became best of friend. In 2001, I stopped car wash business and decided to go work as a house maid at M.K.O Abiola gardens Lagos also with someone I loved so much because he shared my pain in 1999 and gave me the balance of the waec fee to be rewritten in year 2000, which I cleared with four distinctions and five credits through routine shuttling between my car wash business location and old secretariat G.R.A Ikeja central library in the course of preparing for the exams. Though, some years later while working as a driver many of my bosses never believed I had an o'level. In 2002, I got a 5k/month office assistance job which enable me to have a place to lay my head peacef

THE REALITY IN NIGERIA'S ECONOMY: MY GRASS ROOT EXPERIENCE IN 7-DAYS.

Each time you moved up or down the ladder in Nigeria, you still found that some people still envisage your position either up the ladder or down the ladder. In whichever position we found ourselves on the ladder, let us all endeavour to glorify God for the gift of life above all things. For the past 7days now in 4yrs, i have been conveying myself and my two sons to school and to office on public transport because i discovered that N220/litre of fuel doesn't make any economic sense when compare with N300 to and fro movement in a public transport that initially used to be N140 to n fro. My business is facing challenges. My income is facing challenges. Maintaining my home is facing challenges and in fact, my relationship with people is facing challenges because i had been confronted recently by a friend with the believe that,i am a stingy person. Be that as it may, i have never lost focus on the need to let my two young sons realized that the situation presently i
