IMPLICATIONS OF ELECTION VIOLENCE
In 2007, a young boy that graduated from Lagos State University, Ojoo Lagos was recruited as a member of a political thug in Ibadan being a strong member of an association during his University days.
This is a boy that have spent close to 5years preparing to go and face the labour market with the hope of securing a good job in order for his future and that of his family be secured especially his mum and dad. But unfortunately, he ended up as a... political thug probably in the interim to make ends meet.

But unfortunately, he ended up as a... political thug probably in the interim to make ends meet.
To cut a long story short, on the election day, himself with his group went all out brandishing dangerous weapons in solidarity to the interest of their political Godfather. Information has it that everyone of the group was given 5thousand naira each as the benefit for the assignment at hand.
During the political struggle, this young man was short dead after the whole issue. His group brought him to the home of the political father to show that they lost a team member. The response of their master shocked everyone to their bone marrow.
The political godfather told the group to search the pocket of their dead member if they would found the 5thousand naira given to him as his share of the assignment, provided he hasnt spent it. They did as told and they found the money. Immediately the man responded that they should take the money to get a cab and take the young man to his family or a cemetary because he doesnt have a cemetary in his house. Atleast he settled everyone for the assignment.
In conclusion, that was the end of a generation. The end of a student whose parents have struggled to build for a better future. That was the end of a young man who would have been a pillar for his younger ones. Even the political Godfather's children were not part of the election violence talk less of his relatives.
Let us think twice before falling to the temptation of greedy politicians. We are humans like them and we are entitled to every benefit accrued to us as a Nigerian.
Dont be deceived to shedding human blood.
