ZIK HALL IS NOT EQUAL TO THE STUDENTS UNION IN AUTHORITY.


The students' Union is the seal of power of all uites and no hall of residence can represent that authority.

When I was on campus when there was no substantive students union, zikites wrestle power with the then sutc despite the fact that they had had about four of their past chairmen as the chairmen of the sutc but started raging hatred against the sutc when they lost out in the number one position to another hostel.

Funny, I have started reading same attitudes exhibited by the zikites of those period now that the union is substantive and you don't have a zikite as a leader/the president.

No power of hall of residents chairmen or chairpersons equate the power of any students union president and so I am submitting that power struggle between zik and the union should stop.

Learn to follow the elected representative at the union level even if he is not from zik.

This is not to create disagreement among students but to put a stop to this inferiority among uites when zikites are not students Union president.

Instead of dragging power why not place such struggle on the achievements of the elected representatives while in office?

And most astonishing in the history of uisu is that zik have many past union leaders working in ui as employee in one position or the other by virtue of the union experience.

Many amongst us had same opportunity but we preferred to bow out into the labour market with honour without influence.

This zik power struggle childish thing on campus must stop.

All hostels of residence must learn to be submissive to the union.
