PRICE OF LOCALLY MADE RICE STILL AN EXPLOITATION OF THE PEOPLE


Under gej's administration, good quality imported rice was sold at N7,500 till the end of his administration in May, 2015.

Now, we have a lot of low quality and imported and smuggled rice at exorbitant prices courtesy of the fire brigade banning approach of the pmb led administration.

Don't get me wrong! I am not against the drive to promote consumption of locally made rice but what's the sense in buying a 50kg bag of locally made rice for N12,000 without any importation duties hassle when good quality imported rice before the ban was sold at N7,500? A wide price merging of N4,500!!! We are still being cheated and exploited.

As much as I care, a bag of 50kg locally made rice shouldn't exceed N8,000 max for sense to be made in the local production drive and a total ban on importation of rice and blockage and seizure of smuggled ones through the boarders.

My humble opinion.
