WHY THE N-POWER IS NOT ENCOURAGING NOW THAT WE NEED RESTRUCTURING AND PARADIGM SHIFT IN GOVERNING STYLE.
Policy inconsistency and show of ineptness has been the bane of all programs, plans and projects of Nigeria's government since 1960 and this is due to lack of love , exhibition of ego and pride and a show of competitive mentality on the part of the people assigned either through election or selection to sail the ship of state called Nigeria and this must stop.
The same government that cancelled YouWin program of the last administration came up with youwinconnect. What's in name changing? The same government that cancelled surep program came up with N-power. What's in the name changing? And the funniest thing is that many who rose against surep despite being a crooked private public initiative program because it breeds laziness are now praising npower. What sort of hypocrisy have we been cursed with as a people?
There's no one on earth that doesn't like good thing thereby praying for the failure of the government of his or her nation instead, the people nagged against the continued exhibition of the disorganised approach of the government and the expression of unseriousness and release of misguided information to the public especially on the N-power program. It is of note worthy to state that the vice president once said that the beneficiary would start working by October ending which would amount to them being paid duely for work done by November and December ending this year contrary to the news making the rounds now that the 200,000 shortlisted beneficiary would be paid by December ending once their name has been verified. What kind of laziness is the government encouraging? Is the government telling our youth to be redundant so as to benefit from the national cake? We are talking of moral decadence in the society, what kind of morales is the government celebrating with the over one year of media propagation of the n-power without successful employment of one person despite loss of over 5million jobs in the society as released by NBS this month?
Personally, I don't buy into the N-power program based on the following :
1. The civil service is saturated
2. Pensioners are being owed money
3. Able bodied workforce are being owed money
4. Workers salary is being slashed
5. The government is tirelessly running after loans
6. There are too much old people in the civil service
7. More job has been lost in the last one year as compared to the 200, 000to be employed yet on contract basis not full employment to be guaranteed of job security
8.The scheme is a lazy man man scheme as exhibited in recent news making the rounds
9. The n-power will encourage redundancy on the part of the youth as experienced in the surep program.
10. 2yrs contract job is a waste of time and a sign of un-seriousness on d govt part and the participant
MY EXPECTATION FROM THE GOVERNMENT
1. Cancel the N-power program
2. Shakeup the civil service by embarking on nation wide age verification with MRI to determine the actual age of people so that fresh blood can enter into the system to get secured job.
3. Ensure a properly managed pension scheme.
My position above is based on the fact that the in and out system in the civil service is faulty. Many people that have entered the system in over 40years ago are not ready to go out of the system. They busy changing their age. And those that are going out legitimately are busy swapping their sons and daughters, relatives and friends to replace them and this act of corruption must stop because its happening even in states civil service nationwide.
As a people, I believe the first thing we need in our lives to move on is to be organised and focus in governance and in our various homes. We need serious self denial against our natural urge towards greed and selfishness because the earth we are is temporary. We need to realise that leadership is generational. And the role of one generation should not be forcefully taken by another generation. Every generation must have the spirit of let go and that's his the wealth of the nation is evenly distributed and I think the government and our leaders should know this by not embarking on programs that will semantically deny one generation of its right.
Thank you.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria!!
God bless Nigerians!!
